★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such an intense walk up with so many flights of stairs and I recall it took over 2 hours up but the view at the top was amazing and so surreal, not a hike for entry level.
You actually have the rock which has a look out over the whole city however if you go around the side there's a hidden path but I learnt this is a bit more dangerous and not recommended to the public by the DOC

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome bush track takes you to the top. Well looked after steps and wooden walkways. Approx 1.5hrs return if you are reasonably fit and don't have kids, and that's assuming 10mins relaxing at the top ? The view is all encompassing!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked a b&b near the near, kapea. 3 mins drive from this track. It's just after the Mt mania club building. It's got a lot of steeps going upwards so might not be the best for elderly or little ones. It took me about 40mins. It's great for a lot of runners though who want a good leg workout. But the view up there is v worth it! Esp on the good day. I went during the summer so if you want to avoid it being hot or too crowded go about 6pm ish you can take your time and avoid bumping into people taking photos up there!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very steep walk with a lot of stairs but the views are fantastic. About 40 minutes up and 25 down for a group of fairly fit 20-somethings. The viewing area isn't huge but offers views on all sides.
