Caves is about 10 kilometers away from Highway 47. Most of the road sections are gravel roads and there is no internet signal. It is not recommended to go alone on rainy days, because my car skids and gets stuck in rainy days. In the mud, it took 6km to get a signal to call for help from a friend. Because it’s easy to get lost inside, it’s best to bring your partner along, otherwise you’ll get lost and there is no signal, it’s GG.

Outstanding place. It's not very accessible and there is a ladder to get to the cave, so not suitable for everybody. Also the cave is easy to get lost, so be prepared.

We went to see these caves with our daughter, who is 2, and found out that you were required to descend via a ladder but the website had said it had wheelchair and pram access available. The guide we met outside the entrance indicated the had to use head torches and helmets to get in and while inside. Can't review the actual caves themselves, however website information should be updated.

Awesome caving experience. Having a map of the cave is strongly recommended - it is easy to get lost, and following the stream won't always get you out easily. Drive to the cave is rough, but despite DOC warnings (and signs posted next to the road), it was easily doable with low-clearance 2WD vehicle. Some larger potholes required careful negotiation.

I loved it so much very beautiful and such an amazing experience, quite surprised with myself I overcome a fear of tight spaces being inside these caves will definitely go again.

Best cave in Northland! It's literally in the middle of no where so you won't meet any one making noise. It's beautiful and reserved. Lots of pathways inside, I spent about 1½ hour in there. Freezing cold water, crawled through it on my stomach to see more of the cave and boy was it ever worth it! Highly recommended! The road to get there is a LONG gravel road full of potholes everywhere, non-maintained. I was driving a small 1.5L 5-door hatchback and made it no problem, though if your driving skills are average, maybe this is not for you. Or you can bring a 4wd and be done with it lol. I'm not kidding, some potholes could really wreck your suspension, always think about how to get back before going in! Good life advice in general tbh.
