Opononi Hotel is a Whanau owned and operated establishment; combining a magnificent restaurant, fantastic selection of accommodation, spectacular views, accompanied with a delicious continental breakfast.
Each room boasts a generous ensuite, luxuriously comfortable bed, heatpump, sky TV and a private balcony with outdoor seating.
The restaurant boasts great indoor outdoor dining, relaxing atmosphere, a wonderful menu and scrumptious mouth watering meals.
To cool off on hot days, jumping off the whalf into the Hokianga Harbour, then enjoying a delicious ice cream from Opo Takeaways.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant and bar have stunning views of the Hokianga Harbour. The prawn and salmon salad was divine. Bao buns tasty, also. Counter service, so can be a bit slow, when going to order another drink.

Food was great and you felt welcome and at home.
Staff were chill and could have told this Aucklander to beat it like Michael Jackson, but didn't.
Definitely coming back and telling people to go here too ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Checked in around 6pm, was greeted by lovey staff at the bar who gave us our room key, room had very cool decor with a balcony and view of the harbour. Breakfast was amazing, great selection. Great value for money has to be one of the best places we stayed at on our northland trip, really cool spot!! Wish we could have stayed longer

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Can't understand the negative reviews here. Yes, the place is old. Yes, it is in the middle of town so you occasionally get kids revving it up. But it is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Mr 7 had loved it. And the fact that there is a restaurant within arm's reach is awesome. We will be back. Thank you
