★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and hot on the day. Looked smaller than I remember. Had a lot of rubbish on the edges. The tree have nice shading. The flying fox was a hit with the mokopuna.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We enjoy walking here - beautiful views and not as busy as Mission Bay, so parking is easier to find. Public toilets too, and a massive field with kids' playground across the road.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shout out to the Ngati Whatua kaitiaki and the Auckland City council members and general public who honor the union and cooperation between the people and the whenua. There is a sense of wairua/Spirit in the area, because the land has so much history to it, to the city, the region, to Aotearoa.
I love the vibe of the place, I especially love and remember cruising with my friends and family at quite a young age, fast forward I'm in my 30s still appreciating the value of a good cruise through Orakei, even more glad my generation have realized to abide by the law, now I've seen even cops cruising with everyone ? (Well, not crushing cars anyway, our cars are alot more expensive today mate ?).
The water and scene at night is calming. By day it's bustling, busy, yet can have a good lunch, play, Kelly Tarltons etc, food etc.
Love it.
