★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A weekend well spent! I took the Whitewater Rescue Technician training over the weekend of 8-9 December with Packrafting Queenstown and Rescue 3 International. Over the two days it felt like we went from basics about gear right through the full whitewater rescue scenarios before we even knew it, the knowledge and skills were all delivered very fluently and efficiently and we had plenty of time to practice and ask questions. Would definitely recommend getting on a trip/course with Huw and his team!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I did the packrafting 101 course in the Rees valley. Huw and the other instructors were really good and helpful. We had challenging conditions during the weekend because of the rain. The river was running much higher than normal but Huw managed to find calmer parts of the river where we could train.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great two day course with Huw and the team. Could not recommend enough, even to advanced pack rafters. The guides were very professional and at all times I felt safe, even when tackling more advanced rapids. I gained a lot of confidence and am frothing for more!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely loads of fun!!! Huw is an awesome guide and talks you through everything you need to know. It was such a fun chill time floating down through the stunning valley interspersed with fun baby rapids. Totally worth every penny and a must do for anyone who likes a wee adventure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My expectations of this trip were exceeded 10-fold! We set off from Queenstown into the Rees valley for our epic 2 days covering, I think more that just the basic basics of river hydrology, paddle technique, scouting, safety and rescue techniques. The instructors were more like mentors with the small groups numbers allowing them to focus on how we can improve as individuals. This really speed up the learning and prosses and boosted confidence giving us the chance to send it down some rapids more rowdy than you would do learning by yourself.
The whole experience was invaluable! A ''must do'' in Queenstown and not just for those looking to get into the sport. Compared to other activities in town for the same price you get the adrenaline + the connections, an adventure, new skills and a company who genuinely care about customer experience, safety and growing the sport.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I did the Pack rafting 101 course. Fantastic! I really liked the focus on safety. Our instructor was excellent and made it a fun weekend with a lot of learning and paddling. If you are thinking about pack rafting, my advice is do this course. You will do enough to see if it is for you, plus the weekend is fun and has a strong focus on safety.
