If you want to experience the Whanganui River, I would strongly suggest using this family owned company. You will not be disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just before the rains came we completed our 4 day Whanganui River Canoe trip. We stayed at the Taumarunui Canoe Hire & Jet Boat Tours guest accommodation on the night before we started and on the night it ended. We had the 2 bedroom suite and it was brilliant. It's a family affair and everyone gets involved and has a job.
We had the best time ever, great boats, water tight barrels came in handy :) and everything we needed was there.
Engaging team and all very friendly. The muffins and juice at the end in Pipiriki were greatly appreciated.
I'd recommend this company, well orgnanised, safe and well run. AAA+

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend this operator - great kit, great training, great to deal with. Felt very safe with the care they put into training and checking our abilities. We had a fantastic trip - but next time would go when the river is slightly higher, low flow meant for a lot of effort to paddle 35km in a day!

Outstanding service, free onsite camping, free barista coffee during the morning brief, drop off and pick up was very pleasant and quick. Sorry we could not paddle fast enought and where 40 mins late battling the head wind.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience with Taumarunui canoe hire. The team/staff is extremely friendly, the service is impeccable and we really appreciated their hospitality. The little muffin at the end are just delicious and nothing better than that after many days on a canoe, camping and eating dry food.
Thank you so much, I definitely recommend and would come back if I were to do it again with some friend and/or family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Epic adventure. Team that sorted us out made sure we had all the info ahead of time, gave us some good training and gear and boats were super reliable. Home for a few days lol. As for the journey itself, the whole thing was just unreal, not what you ever really get to see. Alot of it was just flat paddling as the river was pretty low apparently. Some good rapids along the way that had some stress going for a minute but my partner and I managed to make it down without coming out of the boat once ? Highly reccomend.
