Who's in the stables, stamping and neighing? With beautifully pitched text wrtitten by Susie Brooks supported bu friendly cartoon-style illustrations, Who's In The Picture? invites young children to explore and interact with art. With paintings by Frida Kahlo, Henri Rousseau, L.S Lowry and many more, this playful search-and-find book encourages readers to examine each painting and to explain, very simply, what is happening in the pictures.Who's in the Picture? has a gallery of images at the end of the book giving further details about each painting, including where the original artwork can be viewed.

β β β β β Great boutique bookstore with superb customer service from the owner who obviously loves books. My experience earlier today shows just how bookstores like paradox can thrive in a world dominated by corporates. If you need a book for a present or just need to find a book to read for pleasure, you won't go wrong by dropping into paradox. Thanks for the book recommendation.

β β β β β This is a lovely little bookshop and we have spent much here; the staff are lovely and very helpful. The owner, however, has never struck me this way. Take this afternoon for example. I'm searching for a great etymological reference book for my classroom and I ask the owner if she might have one on her shelf. She checks and there was nothing even close. When I asked if it would be possible to order one in, I was shocked to hear her retort, "Well, can't you just google up the word?" On so many levels was this an unexpected reply! On doing a study in any subject, we offer our students the vocabulary and the origin of the word in order to better understand their subject. I realize my request was not at all what she wants to help me with so I thank her and start to leave, to which she then grudgingly insists on looking up something on her computer only to tell me that I need to do the research because there are 1000s of books, etc, and she can't order one in because of supply chain issues, etc. Obviously, this isn't a problem for Amazon so I walk home contemplating the paradox of ever buying a book at Paradox.
