β β β β β Showed up at 3:05pm, 55 minutes before the advertised closing time after being recommended this spot by a local. A little disappointed, as we had just driven 20 minutes out our way, when the waiter rushed out as we approached the steps to tell us they were closed. I said we were just here to enjoy a glass of wine (and likely buy a couple of bottles), and the advertised closing time was 4pm. No good - he had confirmed with their manager they were closed despite a few people clearly in the restaurant / wine area.
Either they don't want any babies in prams in their quaint setting, or don't want any walk-ins. Would advise you call ahead to make sure they are open in future. Awaroa is just up the road and we found them to be extremely welcoming with outstanding wine to match.

β β β β β Really beautiful, excellent food especially the pasta!! Forgot to take photo of the pasta, the tiramisu is also outstanding! Will definitely recommend if you want some real good Italian food in Waiheke Island!

β β β β β only giving 2 stars because the bread was good. Although paying $400 just to have nice bread plate ... many not interest many! Partner and I were walk-ins as we were staying just around the corner and this was the closest food to us. The 2 staff members who greeted us were extremely rude and snobby. They looked down on us as and it felt like they thought we could not afford to eat there... never been treated like this was strange and off putting. we had the 9 course degustation with 9 wine pairings. Food was so bland and not worth the price. Wouldn't recommend.

β β β β β Amazing place - lovely food setting, and the wine isn't bad. So many times restaurants, even "fine dining" restaurants in NZ disappoint, but some of the degustation courses would count as the best dishes I've had in years. Happy to receive refills on the matched wine pairings as well. Not cheap, but worth it in my opinion.

β β β β β Overall, a pleasant experience. The setting is beautiful. Food was fine but not amazing, with a fair selection of Mediterranean style vegetarian dishes(tomato mozzarella starter, breads and olives, roasted veggies and a vegetarian lasagne) but the main dish and only non-vegetarian course was small. Wines are recommended as the courses come along. Long lunch actually just ended up meaning very long gaps between courses.

β β β β β A beautiful setting, but it was very strange as we were turned down saying that the place is full, though there were plenty seats available, we also said that we are happy just with a glass of wine and we still got a polite no. The only reason I can think of is maybe there was a dress code, then it would have been more honest to say that. Real shame as a place is beautiful and quiet out of the way so would have been nice to serve us wine

β β β β β The gardens are stunning. Overall a lovely experience on a nice warm day.
The food itself was good but not great. The facilities are not very child friendly - no changing table in toilets and hardly any space to accommodate a fairly compact pram in the outdoor seating area (so we had to hold our 5 month old the entire time while eating). Also, one of the servers was quite rude giving us quite a lot of attitude for simply enquiring about whether we could be seated outside which dampened the whole experience.
