β β β β β Got a chance to see little penguins and a lot of seals in the wild when kayaking. Had a 4wd through the scenic views. The guid is highly trained in sea kayaking. Very safe to go. Giving 4* since I didn't see the dolphins ?

β β β β β We were privileged to have Joey as our tour guide, she was born and raised on Flea farm, and her passion for conservation and knowledge of penguins and the areas shone through. We had a great time despite doing the tour on the shoulder season.. would highly recommend a visit as we're really looking forward to returning later in the year

β β β β β A very worthwhile and wonderful experience. Joey was a wonderful, informative and helpful guide and even though the weather was wet and miserable, we still had an adventure sloshing about in the mud, and we got to see the white crested penguins, lots of unique rare breeds of sheep and the devastation that the recent floods had made on the landscape. I highly recommend this experience.

β β β β β Kevin was a great tour guide and driver. We were able to see a few of these cute penguins in their little huts, a few in the water from a distance and just as we were getting ready to head back to the van, Kevin spotted a male on the rocks just below us. We had a fun time watching him preen for a while. Great adventure!

β β β β β Highly recommended! Our kids declared this the best experience of their lives. Our family stayed at PΕhatu Penguins with the 24 hour package, which is excellent value. A huge thank you to our guides Mark and Ben, who were both friendly and knowledgeable. We started with a nature tour on the way out and saw Hector's dolphins, fur seals and sea birds from Akaroa Lighthouse. Then we enjoyed a lovely 1.5 hr bush walk to our cottage, past two beautiful waterfalls. Our cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, having everything we needed for an overnight stay. In the evening we went on a penguin tour and saw lots of penguins in their nest boxes, fur seals, and a couple of penguins emerging from the water. The next morning we went sea kayaking, with our guide Ben taking extra care to ensure our kids felt comfortable and safe. We saw lots of fur seals, a penguin, and six Hector's Dolphins which were swimming around our kayaks! A fantastic experience from beginning to end, with lovely staff. If I could give it more than five stars, I would!

β β β β β This was a great tour where we could see seals and blue penguins in the same day. Kevin and Ben did a great job guiding us through the hill and then during the kayaking. We were lucky the day was sunny and warm. Donβt forget bring water and a camera.

β β β β β A hidden gem in New Zealand that has to be experienced! It was over cast and raining on our Sea Kayak tour but that didnβt dampen the beauty! Lots of seals, little blue penguins and even saw hectors dolphins in the harbour. Our guide Viola was so informative and passionate it made it an incredible experience. The people here do such important conservation work, they deserve your support and you wonβt regret adding this to your trip. I will be back to do the banks track through native bush and stay in one of the farm accommodations. Also we are not fit and found the Kayaking very manageable as we went at our own pace and felt very safe the whole time. Photos do not do this place justice, you need to see it. 10/10 recommended!!
