Really good walk. I usually go up from the Spicer Entrance and the walk is about an hour and a half to 2 hours round trip at a moderate pace with rests. Really good views that are well worth the hike.

I go up here once a week. Nice walking through the native Bush and great view up the top. The council have done a great job with fixing the steps so you can go up when it has rained the night before. New track is a lovely 6.1 k walk or run. It would be nice if there were some toilets in the carpark

Great tracks through native bush, pine forest, and farmland. Some are incredibly steep and others are more forgiving. Brilliant views, and only 2 mins from the city. The park area at the bottom is good too, for short walks or picnics etc. Only thing is that parts of it seem to be taken over by mountain bikers now, and walkers feel a little left behind. But other wise a great asset.

Tracks need more maintenance but other than an enjoyable and relaxed walk, mostly under shelter

Really surprised by this walking track. I have lived in Porirua for 14yrs and have never been up Colonial Knob before in spite of knowing of its existence. It was a cloudy day, so missed the view, otherwise 6 star's. Went up the four wheel drive track and came down the steps. What a surprise the steps were. Be prepared for a work out either way. Can't wait to do this again on a sunny day and get the reward of the view.

Took a few wrong turns here and there as I was a tad unprepared and therefore ended up taking the long, long way around but got to see some nice spots. Will need to bring a bike to get the full experience though.

Had a great walk on very fine sunday 14th June to see the transmission gully development and the large bridge behind Cannons creek. It's not the length of the bridge but the height of the middle span which is probably the highest in the country. Scaffolding at the bottom helps give it some comparison. Also great views over Porirua to Kapiti.
