β β β β β Service was great and interior looked beautiful and classy. Food however, not great. Tortellini looks and taste like Pam's tortellini from the supermarket. Slight pricey for the food you get.

We were three people arriving without a booking and were delighted by the pleasant but comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and manager - they really went the extra mile to be helpful. We all chose pizzas and they were excellent. We will definitely be going back next time we're in Palmerston North. Thank you Portofino!

β β β β β Right from ringing Portofino to make a reservation and the whole dining experience. I absolutely love the food and this place. Gives you a sense of family. So friendly, expressive and passionate. This experience makes me want to go to Italy. I will be back. Highly recommended and rated A+++++

β β β β β Amazing restaurant, Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service. We travel from Wellington to Palmerston North just for this restaurant. The manager and team that were working tonight (21/5/22) were so wonderful. They were extremely busy tonight and I mistakenly hadn't booked prior to arriving. Before they even knew we had travelled here just for this restaurant they made me feel so welcome under the stress of catering for their busy restaurant. They were at capacity and so busy, an hour to closing time so they were no longer taking orders but they made an exception for us. Appreciate it so much. Will be back for sure as soon as we can. I highly recommend anyone coming to PN to stop here! Palmerston North is very lucky to have this restaurant and team.

β β β β β We love going here, the food is fantastic and itβs the only real Italian restaurant in Palmy. The tortellini and the pork with masala are my favourites. And you canβt beat their tiramisΓΉ. I also really like that they have real Italian wine, try the Sangiovese , itβs so good! We have been going here for years, the owners greet us like family now.

β β β β β From start fo finish, every single plate is amazing and wonderful.
Seafood platter with muscle, clams, calamari and fish was flavourfull.
Risotto and carbonara was tasty with creamy and rich sauce.
The desert: *chef kiss* amazing.
Definitely recomend and we will come back for more.

Our waitress was new and still learning a lot but very kind and sweet, the food was amazing and filling, drinks were great and the decor inside was absolutely amazing. It wasn't too busy but everyone that was inside looked very happy and comfortable. The owner(?) an Italian man behind the bar was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend!
