A stable of Auckland surf culture since 1991, Primal has some serious backing to their product.
From the early days of blowing blanks & making fins, to working with robotics, & developing digital technology for the surf industry. In 2015 Primal was nominated for an innovation award by Callaghan Innovation for the development of Futurelite technology, and we are continuing to push our limits teaming up with some of the best companies in & out of the surf industry. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing board ever. I'm sort of in between beginner and intermediate level who had always difficulty with paddling out and catching waves because I'm not that fit enough. However, Primal board gives huge advantage of catching more waves and paddling out so easily because of the way it's designed - more floatation and stability. I'm truly satisfied with Primal board.

The staff have a wealth of knowledge & experience and can give advice on a board/ gear that's right for you. If they don't have exactly what you're after they can custom shape it on site. Highly recommend.

Got my first board, (that's not my beginner foamy) and Glen was super helpful throughout the process, asking the right questions and giving great advice. Furthermore, got to trial like-boards to help with those tricky decisions. A little bit of extra buoyancy in the right places, going a tad shorter than initially thought I'd go, and a custom paint job and I couldn't be happier. Took it out for a solid 3 hour test run and have to say it ticks all the boxes.
A+++ would recommend Primal Surf and Glen to anyone who's in the market for a new board. Good vibes.
