Our rental car we had paid for didn't work and after waiting around for an hour for the "mechanic" she then told us we had to pay an "upgrade" fee to get a different rental! Overall awful experience and incredibly rude staff. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We hired a small station wagon (Nissan AD) for 28days and drove 5500kms all through the North and South Islands (taking the car across on the Ferry), Picked up in Auckland and dropped off at Christchurch. They even picked up my partner and I from Ponsonby Backpackers to take us to the Hire Depot in Auckland then dropped us off at the Airport in Christchurch at no extra cost. Nice, friendly staff and a family owned business.
Great value at $30 per day (all inclusive with insurance for both of us to drive). great little car, nice and economical. No problems at all. We did feel that GPS hire was a bit expensive at $10 per day so we bought one on the first day (cheaper than hiring one for that period).
Highly Recommended for an Epic NZ Road Trip!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dont try to disguise yourself. These are the same people for Quality car rentals. They are thieving scammers. They've got the commerce commission on their tail.
Do not give them your credit card number. They will steal as much as they can from your card!!!
And stop making fake IDs on google to try to give yourselves good review! Its sick!
Own up to what you did and still doing!

Because of the terrible reviews of “Quality Car Rentals Limited “ they changed the name on Google for “Quality Rent A Car”, but check it out: it’s exactly the SAME ADDRESS!!! They are only trying to deceive you!!!! Be alert!!!
Apart of the fact that they are trying to disguise their bad reputation, please note that their cars are in terrible conditions. I almost had a very bad accident because the tire blew up in the middle of a highway. When I went to the workshop, the guy said that it was illegal in New Zealand to drive cars with such terrible tires. So I had to replace FOUR TIRES. I had paid full insurance for the car, but still, they charged my credit card for the repair, and they will ignore you, because they have your credit card number, so they do whatever they want. BE CAREFUL!!! besides your money, your life is in danger with this company, which ironically has “Quality” only on the name.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great customer service, always happy to help and the pick up and drop off service is great. Staff go the extra mile to make sure that you get all the information you need. Car we got drove fine, did feel on the little bit more expensive side than we thought and the air con wasn't topped up, which wasn't too good in the heat. Otherwise can't fault them. Could've been a little cheaper for what we got and then would've warranted a five star review. Check out what cars are available for the prices you pay before you get the car and you should be fine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Here at Quality Rent a Car, they do kind of a Rent to Own/Lease with cars.
You pick a car you like put down a $500 bond. And depending on the car you would be paying around $100 - $150 may be a little more per week. After the first year, you can decide if you want to give the car back and take your $500. Or continue with the lease/contract, and forfeit your bond. During the term of the contract the company takes care of the wof, rego and mechanical repairs and your tyres. They have an on-site mechanic. Shaayal is in the office and is the one to see if you are looking for this type of deal. Very nice young lady, easy to talk to and she'll take care of you. Cheers Peeps!!!
