★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a nice Airbnb and friendly hosts. The cottage was clean and cosy with nice personal touches such as eggs from the farm. The outdoor baths were awesome. Even though we didn't get the time to use it, the converted woolshed into a cinema was so cool. Recommend for those wanting a weekend escape ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very stylish, comfortable accommodations in a gorgeous location. Our one-week stay was fantastic and so relaxing and everything was perfect from start to finish. Very close to great hiking trails, day trips for sight-seeing, and a charming cafe. Would recommend to everyone!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the most wonderful mini break staying in the Red Cottage. Everything was perfect – the considered lighting up the path, the heated and welcoming cottage with a super fancy double sided fireplace, the candles to light whilst having a wine in the outdoor twin baths watching the stars, a huge super comfy bed and then waking up to the stunning views of the sheep and cows in the next door paddock with the mountains rising up behind, and a delicious breakfast spread. Myriam and Nigel were absolutely perfect hosts. This had been on our wish list for ages and I can’t imagine why we took so long – we’ll definitely be back sooner rather than later!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a most wonderful stay at the Red Cottages. Nigel and Miriam were wonderful and kind hosts. They made me feel like part of their family during my stay. The accommodations were superb, with all amenities thoughtfully made available for a quiet and comfortable stay in the country. Beautiful panoramic mountain views, starry nights, and lush green fields surround this gem of a location. Nigel proved to be a superb and patient fly fishing guide as he put me on my first ever New Zealand brown trout in the nearby river. Highly recommended if traveling to the area and want a relaxing adventure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a wonderful weekend staying in the Alford cottage. A cute space that had everything we needed, a fully equipped kitchen and a very comfy bed. On our first night the weather wasn't too great so we lit the indoor fire which created a lovely, cosy ambience. The second night we watched the stars come out in the outside baths which was stunning. Each morning we made the easy two minute drive to the Staveley store to enjoy a good coffee and a scone. The cottages are close to Methven and also the many beautiful walks in the area. Highly recommend for a couples getaway from Christchurch. We loved it.
