About Redwoods Treewalk

Coolest place ever! We went at dusk so did half of the walk in the day time and the other half in the semi dark when all the night lights were on! Was such a beautiful walk and loved every moment! The staff were super informative and nice. I will definitely be back in the future!

Fun and shakes! A gift shop with coffee, too. I bought two wooden postcards, unable to be posted nowadays, but will make lovely little wall decorations. Toilets are pictureque. Plenty of signage and information The walkway itself was amazing!

Awesome experience walking through the trees on suspension bridges. Excellent briefing and very helpful staff. The information plaques on each platform were very informative and interesting. I never knew there were Californian Redwoods in New Zealand for over 100 years! I would love to come back and do the night walk with the lights. Would also like to do the Altitude experience which is higher up again. The gift shop has some amazing kiwi made products and sourveniers. At $35 each it was well worth it, highly recommended.

What a magical experience! We went to the night walk and it was fantastic. Walking over suspended bridges amongst the treetops, looking at lights that inspire magic, it is worth every cent! I would recommend getting there early (8pm) as the line was pretty long by the time we finished. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Booked the experience via Book me for the Night tour, it was amazing! As person scared of Heights going later in the night definitely helped me. The beautiful lights made this experience great! We visited on quite a wet and windy evening (given since we visited during the winter months ) definitely will need to come back in the summer on a nice clear evening!

This is one beautiful forest! I was in awe of the giant trees and scenery including horses. Easy walking track for younger children and great toilet facilities (which are at the entrance only) I will come back on my own to do more challenging walks. Not wheelchair friendly. Mind passing bikes on road.

The Redwoods Treewalk was one of my favorite experiences in all of New Zealand! The place was absolutely packed but once you got up in the trees everyone spread out pretty well and you didn't really feel like there were that many people around you. Just seeing the forest in a different light (literally) at night was absolutely amazing. The bridges feel stable, but I can see where they could make someone feel uneasy if they didn't like heights. There are also some areas where you can walk under them and seeing the layout of bridges against the Redwoods was a very cool sight as well. I highly recommend this experience if you like forests and adventures!

In short this is a great walk. It's well worth the money but I would say if possible do it at night. I did it the next day as well and while it's still fun it is nowhere near as spectacular. Of course the advantage of doing it in the day time is that if you want to read the information panels at the stops it is much easier, but they are all lit at night so it is possible to read them still. If you go back within 3 days your second visit is free. Well worth it and I'll be going again at least a couple more times when I take friends over.

Very cool experience and amazing place visit. Cost about $90 for 2 adults and was a little less than the suggested time spent on the website. We finished the walk within 25-30 mins including the signs we read. They had a promotion offering the free dusk walk with entry. This is done through the phone number you give upon the first entry. There were additional trails that we also took after the walk with clearly marked paths. It is breath taking and looks like something from a film. My only suggestion would be to visit when it is less busy as the walks get held up with lots of people. You can only cross the bridges 8 people at a time in single file and if people are moving slowly, it makes it difficult to move along. It can also be hard to take photos when it is crowded. Additional notes.. bathrooms on site, gift shop and mini cafe selling coffee on sight. Masks were not required on the walk but were required in the gift shop.
