★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This location provides the best photo of all the viewpoints on the circuit. You walk into the platform in the middle of the lake and can see ducks swimming about.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The view here on a clear still day is absolutely outstanding. We came here twice, first on an overcast day where it was pretty good, then two days later we came on a clear day and it was amazing. When you are on the West Coast it is an essential stop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walked around Lake Matheson and of all the viewing points, for me, this is the hero shot. The water here was almost still compared to the Jetty View vantage point with the reflection almost being perfect even late morning.
Highly recommend the walk around the entire lake??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lake Matheson offers spectacular views and photos if... the weather is sunny and there is no wind. At 9 o'clock in the morning we arrived just in time to make a few nice shots, but pretty soon the wind spoiled the 'mirror effect' on the lake. The walk around the lake is nice, the path is good (with just a few ups and downs)and there are a number of places where you can take a rest and enjoy some lovely views. Oh, and there's a cafeteria near the parking lot. Make sure to grab a coffee there. It's absolutely the best coffee we've had in NZ!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is definitely a better place for reflection photo than the jetty view point. We strolled along the Lake Gault Track and we were welcomed with the perfect reflection when arriving here. There were no crowd here, we had the whole place to ourselves for over 10 minutes. We get to enjoy the scenery in peace, despite the cloud blocks the mountain view?️. Simply perfect. Only bummer is not wheelchair accessible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reflection Island is a great spot on a calm day, especially the morning I have heard. You need to try your luck and wait to see if the wind dies down while you are there. Regardless, it's still a nice walk and there are other spots around the lake with similar views, but this would be the best on a good day
