★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waimate's community large venue single screen cinema run by Locals.It's seriously old school - Cash only. And stops halfway through the film for an intermission. Like the old days.
Seats are ok. Films usually shown once only. And only on Fridays and weekends. So be quick or miss out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stopped in to see the Sunday movie while in Waimate. So glad we did. This us a brilliant old theatre. Plenty of charm and plenty of space. Price was pretty cheap really. The snacks were the usual movie fare which was excellent. We enjoyed our usual popcorn and even indulged in a choctop ice cream at the intermission. Just love these theatres across NZ and am so lucky to be able to catch movies in them. Thanks to all those who make this possible. Truly awesome.
