β β β β β We stayed for part of our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. A lovely place in a tranquil environment, lovely rooms and a really amazing lounge area to relax. Sue-Ellen was an amazing host - was attentive, helpful and super friendly. Would always recommend and would definitely come back here.

β β β β β What a beautiful lodge. The cleanliness, standard of service and quality of breakfast was superb in an absolutely stunning location . Sue Ellen was the perfect host and after I broke my ankle while out tramping her help and support was amazing. Thank you. Highly recommend you visit this beautiful spot and be spoilt by a wonderful host.

β β β β β A truly amazing location with 5Star+ accommodation and the hostess - Sue-Ellen - being an absolute star- very friendly and full of information - made us feel at home in less than a minute ! Breakfasts were amazing and the late night tipples totally enjoyed & appreciated.

β β β β β 1st Class in every way. Sue-Ellens Rimu Lodge is located just a short way out of Hokitika. Everything is simply perfect. Guests are treated to high degree of hospitality from the moment they are greeted. The surroundings were a true delight. The history and beauty of the area are both fascinating and spectacular. Rimu Lodge is a destination. We made a good choice staying for several nights rather than a one night B&B. Highlights of the area are the Tree Top canopy walk. Blue waters of the spectacular Hokitika Gorge must be regarded as one of the best easy walks in New Zealand. On the doorstep of Rimu lodge are relics of West Coast gold rush days. There is so much to do in the area. Made better by returning to Rimu Lodge each evening and relaxing in the splendid lounge with its grand log fire. Thank you so much Sue Ellen

β β β β β Sue-Ellen is a host who truely understands the meaning of hospitality. She graciously accommodated our special dietary requests at breakfast, she was one step ahead of us with extra things for our days out cycling (a chilly bag, a thermos and towels for swimming) and she pointed us in all the right directions for meals and entertainment. I can thoroughly recommend the Rimu Lodge for a comfortable and relaxing stay on the West Coast - beautifully located on the river with stunning views.
