We had such a memorable experience with Sandy Bay horses, we were warmly welcomed and the whole time we were in awe of the land and our experience with the horses, my daughter and I found it very hard to leave. Cannot wait to get back there again one day.

We had the one hour beginners ride with 2 adults and 1 child. The horses are really well cared for and the facilities excellent compared to other horse treks we have done in the past. Nice mix or farm, native bush and sea views. The guide was also very good and we all felt safe and in good hands.

For a pleasant horse ride and a wonderful, friendly and fun loving hosts, look no further than to Kiley and Naomi from Sandy Bay Horse Trekking. They have taken very good care of my 75 year old mom during the ride. Magnificent ride with them that brought us through some really beautiful sceneries with pretty flowers, clear streams, Fan-tail bird, Poo Peckers, awesome hill-top sceneries, and fresh after-rain-air. Super friendly horses (Blue Gum, Little Girl, Merlin, Brave and Dixie). A truly highly recommended experience. Will definitely come back for more rides in the future.

Highly recommend the Native Tuna Trail horse trek for beginners - a great horse riding experience for the family. We all really enjoyed it.

4 of us came out for a tuna trail horse trek. We enjoyed a very serene and relaxed tour of the beautiful Sandy Bay hinterland. The ridgetop views of the Poor Knights were the icing on the cake. Naiomi was our guide and she was incredibly welcoming, attentive and patient. Highly reccomend this if you're out on the Tūtūkākā Coast.

Our three kids (7-10 years) had an amazing time. Kiley took the time to explain and make sure they were comfortable and knew what to do. The horses were clearly healthy and happy & the whole experience was relaxed and fun. Two quite nervous children came back confident and bubbling and they all now want their own ponies! I can’t rate this highly enough.

Beautiful experience for me and the girls riding the horses at Sandy Bay. Highly recommend this experience. The eels are so tame and the girls weren't afraid to touch them. Kiwi experience 101.

One of the best horse treks I've been on. They were able to accomodate me as a solo rider for an additional costs and it was well worth the money. Naomi was my guide, she was super knowledgable and fun to chat with. I loved getting to canter on the beach and go for a swim with my horse in the bay. Stunning scenery and very happy, well looked after horses. If you're an experienced rider looking for a unique riding experience, this is for you!
