Awesome!!! The Managers, Phil and Christine, were most friendly and helpful. I came for 2 nights and stayed for 5. Very clean and organised. I really look forward to coming back!!! Cheers, Phil

The drive in can be a bit torturous for the last 10km of metal - but it is a lovely spot with very good facilities. This was our second visit and him outdoors loves the fishing there. Dogs on leads welcome, lovely view (especially from Site 1) and the Sandy beach down the hill is lovely for a swim at high tide.

Just spent 8 nights at a very clean and tidy camp. The managers were very friendly and welcoming. Loved the pot luck dinner and social nights with other campers. Hope to return someday soon.

Poutu is the most stunning place. We stayed at the campground and were welcomed by Chris and Phil and little Willow. They are wonderful hosts , so friendly and with a lot of knowledge about the area. The facilities were great and it was absolutely spotless. We would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay. There are also two beautifully made up rooms within the hall and everything is provided . Just bring your food and enjoy. We have only just got home but going again next week. Thanks again for a wonderful stay. Bria and Dene. ?????

Had the pleasure of staying at this campground for a couple of nights. We went for a 4x4 trip to the dunes and to see the lighthouse but wanted to have the ability to stay for a bit and have the comfort of things like showers and a kitchen. The view was stunning and the facilities were great. Everything was really clean, it met all our basic needs and the people who helped us were amazing ! Flexible , helpful and accommodating. They helped us move our tent when wind set in and when we decieded to stay a second night they were able to help us with a room so we didn't need to set up a second time ! There are 2 beach entrances within walking distance. One providing amazing privacy and another onto the main beach which went to a stunning walk with beautiful scenery. If easier camping is something you are looking for, this place is the perfect venue.

It's just a patch of grass between a facilities building and the neighbors' houses. Not much room if there's more than a few groups of campers. Don't go there expecting to be inspired in any way and you won't be disappointed. If you happen to have one of the few spots along the railing that looks out over the water, then lucky you! The facilities (toilets, kitchen, coin-operated showers) are nice enough, and the camp managers live just across the street and are friendly enough so long as you obey the many handwritten rules signs plastered all around the facilities. Overall, not bad, not great. I personally wouldn't return unless I was desperate to photograph the lighthouse again. The husband of the lady that manages the camp is a stand-up guy and will gladly lead you out there on a quad bike tour if the price is right for you. Well worth the cost over walking, if that's what you've come to see. Decent brown sandy beach just a short walk down the hill.

We had a wonderful stay here about 6 weeks ago. We were met by a very friendly, helpful couple, Phil and Chris who were the camp minders. The facilities were so clean and everywhere was well kept. Well done to the two of you. This is an awesome spot, fantastic views and walks on a lovely beach. We also recommend the thrilling quad trip to the light house
