Onaero is a peaceful settlement boasting extensive sea views, beautiful natural scenery and abundant birdlife. Swimming, surfing, fishing and nearby golf courses are popular pastimes.
Our motels are set back 100m from the beach amongst mature gardens and trees. All units have sea views and private beach access to an excellent swimming beach. Our 4 fully self-contained units are like apartments; include bathrooms, kitchen, dining/lounge area and separate bedrooms sleeping 2-6 persons. Pricing is $125 - $150 for 2 persons, $15 per extra person. Seasonal rates may apply. A minimum 2 night stay maybe required on some weekends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simply the best undiscovered motel in NZ. Authentic Kiwiana. We've been staying here, off and on, for 15 years. Seaview isn't slick or glitzy or bells-and-whistles. But it is location, charm, close-to-nature, spotlessly clean, spacious and with wonderful hosts. All that Taranaki offers is at your finger-tips - swimming, surfing, hiking, history, gardens, boating, parks, world-class art gallery and museum in New Plymouth, cafes - and it's all unspoilt.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Seaview Motel is in a beautiful seaside location. Waking up to bird song was a pleasant surprise. The beach is set in a awesome little cove with breathtaking views. The owners were helpful, from booking to check out. We had the studio room which was a generous size and very comfortable. The room was serviced every morning which was appreciated. High level cleanliness.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff, rooms clean and everything we needed was available, except for lights adjacent to the single beds. Very pleasant sitting on the verandah for breakfast, taking in the view of the gardens and the distant sea. Price very reasonable.
While the laundry and bathroom areas were quirkily original 60s, I feel they should be renovated to make them more user friendly. :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location and friendly owner. Not super fancy but has everything you need (good kitchen set up, TV with Freeview, lovely fresh sheets, comfy couch) making it great value for money.
Location was top notch with a short private bush track to the beach.
We will definitely come back :)
