About Shaye's Tiny Homes
Our story begins in 2013, when our founder, Shaye Boddington, decided to design and build her first tiny house. Shaye (and her then-partner) had purchased some land and wanted an affordable and environmentally friendly home for themselves and their young daughter. That's how Shaye came to design and build Lucy, her first tiny. What started as a one-off project has since turned into a passion and a growing business!
Having experienced first-hand the financial freedom, ease of living and joy that a tiny home offers, Shaye was inspired to team up with builder Dylan to build another one...and then a third and a fourth. Eventually, Shaye's Tiny Homes was formed to design and build beautiful, highly liveable tiny houses at the highest standards.
Since those early days, the business has grown significantly. Builder Dylan, who is still part of the team, has been joined by 20 others. Combining Shaye's design know-how and experience with a group of highly skilled builders and support staff, we now design and build 25-30 high-quality tiny homes each year.
Each and every one of us love what we do and take a lot of pride in delivering the home of their dreams to our clients. We strive to create homes that are equally practical and beautiful, while also being sustainable and affordable. We believe that tiny houses can help solve some of the big challenges the world faces by providing affordable homes, being more sustainable and energy-efficient than traditional houses, and freeing their owners up financially. We're incredibly proud to be part of that movement and look forward to helping more people and families into their own (tiny) homes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My house made by Shayes Tiny Homes is absolutely beautiful and have an amazing home feeling. The builders and designers clearly put their effort into individual products, and I thoroughly enjoying living in it. The house has clear artistic vision, which far and above places this company above other Tiny House building companies. It is spacious and lively where I can easily see myself living comfortably for many years.
A few things to note as to why not the full 5 stars:
- Communication was a bit lacking in terms of design choices on their end. While everything they decided was a good choice, there was no consulting with me as the client as to if I wanted those choices.
- Internal paint job leaves a bit to be desired, almost as if they forgot the final coat.
- The build time-frames have no wiggle room if the house needs to take longer. It's always a 12 week build. Therefore meaning if things arent quite ready by final inspection, then you get a house that is missing last minute details. They should allocate 2 extra weeks per build to get the final details right, and to reduce stress of finishing.
- Finally, after receiving the house, I only received information regarding connecting the house to power by myself asking for that information. Basically, I have been asking myself too many 'How do I...?' questions. A little brochure on set up would do wonders that contains tow ball size, power connection options, dimensions and weight of trailer and house etc. The information is there upon request, and they are more than happy to help, but just needs to be more accessible out of the gate.
Overall, these less than positive experiences mentioned are above are easily over shadowed by the positives.

The design of the Arlo really fitted our needs and formed the base for our layout. After booking in a slot and getting the trailer, Shaye and her team dug into the build and did an amazing job. Her awesome team built the outer shell for us, and we did the fit-out ourselves. None of our (extensive) requests were too much, and we ended up with an awesome place that we’ve called home for the last two-and-a-half years. Thank you Shaye and team!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seven months ago we bought DIY plans for the Hazel Delux design to build it where we live in Spain. We had become in love with the Hazel design since watching the Living Big in a Tiny House video on YouTube and since then wanted to live in our own Tiny House.
The process since then - although tricky at some points for the difficulties in our country where the Tiny House Movement is not as extended - has been wonderful!
Sheila from Shaye's Tiny Homes has been there with us for every doubt we had and encouraged us with all the building processes that we have been sharing at our Instagram account @proyectotiny.
I would say that the mix of the wonderful and deep-thought design from Shaye's Tiny Homes and the professional work from the building company who finally built our Tiny here in Spain, NOMA House (nomahouse.es), made the perfect match.
I am honestly so grateful for the work Shaye's Tiny Homes does inspiring others all around the globe to make their Tiny house dreams a reality. It shows that Shaye herself is in love with tiny houses. She started with herself, and inspired others -from her own family to people from the other side of the world- to do so!
We now want to inspire others as well and keep the tiny house movement growing, also in Spanish-speaking countries where the movement is less spread.
