Our cruise ship docks at Auckland. My wife and I decide to check out this tallest structure of Auckland, the Sky Tower, 328m high.
We walk along Federal Street, we see people leap of the top of the tower. They appear like a black dot falling rom the sky.
Sky Tower is a telecommunication tower. The tower is part of the SkyCity Auckland casino complex.
It is just like the Eiffel Tower, or Space Needle. There are 60 levels, and the main observation deck is at Level 51. SkyWalk and SkyJump take place at Level 53.
SkyJump is just a marketing term used for bungee jumping, an activity that involves a person jumping from a great height while connected to a large elastic cord.
I have read reviews and viewed many photos of the Sky Tower, but my wife is aftraid of height. We had been to several other towers around the world, but my wife were terrified each time. So I have to be contented to walk round the base of the tower and watch those dare devils having fun doing SkyJump.
I believe that on a clear day, one can have an uninterrupted view of the city and the islands of the Hauraki Gulf, and can see as far as the Coromandel Peninsula.
