Very exposed so you do get whatever the weather is doing, so be prepared.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Skyline is a really nice walk and cycle route, linking Mt KauKau (above Johnsonville) in the north to Makara Peak at the southern end.
There are plenty of entry/exit points all along the path, so your outing can be as long or short as you like.
Skyline has been built and enhanced way-marking installed by local mountain bikers for everyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pleasant walking trial and not too far from Wellington. Good view and at times can be just hills around. Also be cautious about bikes on track. Overall good one. After the walk, you can drive to Makara beach as well

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For me, the best trail in Wellington is from here to Mt Kaukau and return, spectacular views of city and Cook Strait / south island on a clear day. A real experience in all weathers, yes it can be very windy. Catch a #2 bus to karori, or stsrt the other end from Khandallah on a #24 bus. Recommended for fresh air and views.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A delightful track to have fun and work out if you are looking for some activities during the weekend. The views are awesome but in some roads and tracks you may feel boring because there are nothing but hills. Overall it's a great trail and it takes about 3hrs to complete the whole session.
