★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We appreciate we didn't book a table so were asked to eat in the bar area. The seats were extremely uncomfortable being wooden and far too high for shorter people to get up on and be able to sit at for a long period, ok if your feet can actually reach the metal foot rest at the bottom of chair, but this wasn't possible at 5 foot 3. The pins and needles experienced in our legs, (because our legs were dangling) meant we had to keep getting off the stools to stand for a bit, we wish now we hadn't ordered and stayed, very uncomfortable. We did ask for a table in the dining area as people left, but unfortunately those tables were awaiting guests. The upstairs dining area wasn't being used, we put it down to mismanagement and no interest in the comfort of diners, I guess easier for staff to handle diners downstairs and to make the bar area look busy, which it really wasn't, at the most while we were there five bar tables had people, as for the dining area a number of tables were still empty when we left, but I guess booked. However, make your guests comfortable and they will stay longer , spend more and return.
As for the meal, it was ok, nothing outstanding and a bit pricey for what you got and just a tip, don't put the steak on top of the chips as they just go soggy and weren't eaten and so a piece of steak and a side salad ended being quite pricy, as chips were wet. Probably won't return, shame really as the staff were good and the bar looks the part, but seats need attention.
If a wheelchair bound person came in to the bar, the bar tables would be far too high, this day and age it is disappointing to go into a modern bar which doesn't have seating for older, disabled or different heights of guests.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My daughter took me out to your place which I have never been to before. Matthew greeted us and was super amazing, including right down to his ice coffees. We ordered the Castle chicken burger, oreo cheese cake & that was worth taking a photo of, my daughter and I will certainly be back again for the weekend breakfast & ice coffees. Please I want to thank the lovely lady with the pink shirt who finished off our order. Thank you for a wonderful experience and the primo seating in the restaurant by the window.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff!! But got seated by the window in the hot sun and then got watered down fizzy drinks, then had lamb shank and cherry chicken that was not up to standard at all, quite upset really, lamb shank over cooked and chicken ok but rest of meal under seasoned and weird combinations! Grape and olives with cherries on chicken? Loved the pub and the staff but food just wasn’t good, won’t go eat there again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lunch today well I know why I haven't been back here for some time.
Wait time unacceptable service staff were great but didn't bother to advise us about the time problem.
Didn't offer a complimentary drink for the long wait.
Salad was lettuce carrot and a slice of wafer thin red onion not a tomato or cucumber in sight , maybe we were supposed to bring our own.Very small portion of chips 11 to be exact and that's counting the little ones.Medium rare steak was well cooked Yuk!.
Blue Cod was delicious pity about the rest.
Price to pay for what was delivered disappointing ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice food, great service, reasonable prices. A large variety of meals, drinks and desserts available. LOVE the hot chocolate with marshmallows and a Whittaker chocolate Sante bar!!! Steak is good meal choice plus corn fritters. Disabled access and parking available. Drinks a good price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not a bad pub though it was weird to only able to book a table between 6-7:30pm. Service on a slower end. Food was decent though the pork ribs were over cooked. Mud cake was delicious!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really delicious food and a nice friendly venue. The salads are epic as is the schnitzel. Fries aren’t as good as Rosy O’Grady’s beer battered fries, but they have plenty of yummy snacks at Speights.
