A collection of historic photographs grace the walls of our small dining room depicting the changes. Our aim since purchasing “The Station” in late 2003 was “to put the old girl right”. Five new bathrooms have been installed and our seven guest bedrooms (two with ensuite) are individually decorated to a very high standard. Rollaway beds offer more capacity for groups.

Enjoy a round at the nearby Rangitira Golf course which features it’s very own cable car. Play pool, darts, cards or have a flutter on our gaming machines. Live sport is on the big screen and there ‘s a comfortable guest lounge for reading or TV watching.

Our restaurant is open seven nights for light snacks or dinner and breakfast is served at a time to suit. We also offer four “cheap and cheerful” outside rooms for backpackers & cyclists. Groups are always welcome, please contact us to arrange a getaway package.

A good honest decent country pub, with a hostess/publican who is genuine about wanting to know about you. Don't come here for the craft beers, but that's not what this pub is about. The food is filling, well presented, tasty and we'll priced. The locals are who you'd expect for a country pub: good farming people. Come here, and enjoy a good break from driving.

Loved this lovely stately place. Not much from the outside, but the inside has an inviting warm fire in the bar, there's a game's room complete with pokies, pool table etc, and lovely dining room where they dish up superb home cooked meals ?. There's a communal garden just a wander up the road, established on the old railway station site.

Beautifully restored hotel, friendly staff, lots of character. Just remember that the main trunk line runs past it and the trains are pretty regular! Part of the experience... Along with the midnight geese and donkeys that sound like chainsaws. Loved it!!!

After treking in the Ruahines, we stayed in this lovely quaint country hotel. It has been refurbished in keeping with an 1800s Hotel and very well done. Extremely clean, warm and cosy; meals were great, and very welcoming staff. We stayed in the corner room with an ensuite - great shower, very comfortable bed and nice linen, along with everything you need for your stay. The main trunk railway is close by and it is all part of the 'Station Hotel' experience when the freight train goes through in the middle of the night. We would highly recommend staying at the Station Hotel.
