I have been registered at this practice for 9 years and feel like I see a different doctor everytime I go there! I find one of the receptionists particularly argumentative and condescending. She interupted me 3 times during a phone conversation recently and wouldn't let me have my say. In the end I asked if she would allow me to finish my sentence. After 10 mins of debating, the unwarranted charge for an 'emergency' prescription was eventually dropped but boy did I have to fight for it. It was only an extra $10 on top of the already $17 but it was the principal. Most people probably would have allowed her to talk down to them, interrupt and overpower them. I think she's the wrong person to be dealing with ill people. If you can get past reception and the fact that you'll see many different doctors, the doctors are very good.

Nasty unempathetic receptionist and some doctors are absolutely amazing here but it depends on who you get honestly some are honestly appalling and need to be held accountable for their actions or lack there of

I have been going to this practice for several years now. Every time I have been i have been fobbed off and now just feel defeated. My last visit really upset me, I left bursting into tears as the topic I went in for is a very sensitive topic for me, and I was hoping to get an empathetic approach or some hope of getting help, but instead I got sarcastic comments made, and basically just got laughed at, making me feel inferior. I could barely get a word in to explain fully what has been going on before my diagnostic was being made (which was very much an 'its just part of life' approach), and pills were trying to be pushed. You wonder why our mental health suffers in regards to our symptoms, were made out to be 'making it up'. I felt nervous enough as it was going into the consultation as I find every time Im made out to be making it up, and I left feeling even worse, nobody should leave crying, or feeling like there is no hope. We know our bodies and when something isnt right. Everyone has a right to feel looked after, or supported no matter what age or concern, and I hate to say, I highly doubt you will find that kind of help here. I wont be returning and wont be recommending. Spend your money and time getting the support you deserve elsewhere. A truly disgusting experience to be honest which has really affected me. Google is honestly more helpful than paying to come here and get talked down to.

Each time I visit stoke medical I get a different experience based on the doctor I see. My most recent visit was great. The doctor I saw (this time) had a fantastic attitude and passed on some great advice. As an over-all review, my suggestion is to find a doctor that treats you with dignity and respect and stick with him/her. If you see a different doctor every time your chance of not having a good experience will increase. I'm not naming anyone but there are some doctors working there that based on my previous experience, are not nice people. Once identified, stay away form them.

I am appalled at the treatment my daughter and I received at Stoke Medical Centre today. We enrolled here as a family in 2008 and my daughter (18) needed to see a doctor today after 12 days of Strep throat where she had previously been swabbed and diagnosed a week ago at a casual visit to another GP while staying in another town. She was told today by the receptionist here that her enrollment was no longer valid as she hadn't been to the doctor in 7 years...so her enrollment had been cancelled and today's visit would be treated as casual - and charged accordingly! When I rang to book the appointment I specifically asked how much it would cost (because she had already paid $140 for two previous casual visits within a week in the other town) and was told it would cost $38, NOT the casual rate. There had also been no mention of lapsed enrollment. The woman at the front desk was incredibly condescending and seemed more concerned with asking why my daughter hadn't been to a doctor in 7 years (in front of a packed waiting room) than anything else. When I explained that she hadnt eaten in 8 days and was having trouble keeping hydrated, the response I got was "Well most of us don't eat when we're sick" and it was suggested that she would be better off going back to the doctor she had originally seen. I was gobsmacked and we left without seeing a doctor. To make matters worse, my daughter has been reluctant to visit a doctor as a teen and now feels completely justified in "not bothering". Her faith in the medical system has been sorely damaged and suffice to say I will be moving to another medical practice. In my experience, the doctors at Stoke Medical are fabulous, but this incident has left a bitter taste in two mouths to say the least.

I recently changed medical centres to Stoke, and I'm pleased I did. The team were amazing, right from the friendly reception staff, the helpful nurses and the caring doctors.

80% of the time unimpressed with the service of receptionists. As I am a hospotality worker proffessional customer service is everything to me! But they dont even give me time of day or a smile, nor do they have patience to listen to an issue. Plus appointments are running late every time I come in leaving me waiting between 15- 45 mins which is becoming a regular annoyance.

Waited 30 minutes in My car.. the doctor didn't even give my doctors note to say what was wrong with me so I just guess I had to remember what he said? It's all pretty pathetic I shouldn't had to call the doctor back to ask what I have and write it down.. very unprofessional
