★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I stayed at Stone Store Lodge to begin our 2 week trip in New Zealand. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our trip. The house is beautiful, comfortable and Richard is a wonderful, gracious host. The bedrooms and bathrooms are top notch and the views spectacular. We Look forward to returning to Stone Store Lodge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great position in a quiet, secluded location. Richard is a great host, happy to chat or leave you alone based upon your preference. The rooms are very well appointed and the bed is like a cloud. Breakfast is fantastic as are Richard's talents with his espresso machine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot, easily one of the best places I have stayed. The host Richard was friendly, helpful and good to chat to. But at the same time he gave you your space. Room was big and basically catered to most of your needs, fridge, kettle, tea, coffee etc. The bathroom was brilliant, under floor heating and heated mirror. Great shower, plus the toiletries provided were the best I have had anywhere and everything was sourced local. Eco Castile was the brand I think. Room came with a spacious deck and great views out into the woodland. The common shared area was also spacious, modern and clean. You had multiple options for breakfast in the morning which they cooked for you at your desired time. I had the French toast which was very good. Can’t recommend this place enough. If I was back in the area again I wouldn’t even consider looking anywhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our stay at the Stone Store Lodge was absolutely amazing! I got ready for my wedding day at the Lodge with my family and friends. I woke up in the morning to a breathtaking view of the forest out my window and it really calmed my nerves for the day ahead. It was the perfect backdrop for our photographer to take photos of our hair and make-up being done and putting my wedding dress on. The accommodation was clean, roomy and inviting in a spectacular natural landscape. The beds were also very comfortable. I would return to stay here anytime, I wish I had booked to stay longer!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this place. So clean and beautiful views of the bush. Lovely friendly hosts.
This is the second time we have stayed there. Would definitely stay again. Loved the bathroom so modern and the heated floor. The room had a heat pump which made the room very comfortable. Great blinds and sheer curtains blocked any light out. There are three rooms to stay in and an amazing shared lounge with spacious kitchen and breakfast was included and everything you need was provided. In summer you can sit outside on the balcony and listen to the birds or just enjoy the views or inside on the large dining table. If there was anything else to say it would be it could have done with a light leading from the car park through the walkway leading to the entrance of the house where a light did come on outside the house but other than that its a great stay.
