★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Upon showing up for a booking to stay for 10 nights we were told visa debit cards were accepted with a deposit (bond) of $100. If we did not have a credit card we were told we needed to pay for the entire 10 days stay upfront plus a bond. We were happy to pay with internet banking but that was not an option according to their policy. Perhaps the Scenic Hotel Group need to upgrade their policy to accommodate those of us who wish to move into the 2022 century.
They lost our money and we ended up at the Chateau Marlborough which invited us in on short notice and were very professional catering to all our needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent rooms, nice and clean. Has good room service and great food frm breakfast lunch and dinner. Great car parking and staff are really friendly and helpful. Food is also Great. Menu has some really good choices. Close to town also, 10min walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotel in beautiful surroundings where we stayed in November 2019. The hotel is right on Semour Square.
A well designed and maintained garden of memories with a bell tower as a war memorial.
It is not far to the shopping center.
The rooms were adequately equipped and clean.
The staff polite and helpful.
We were able to admire well-maintained vintage cars in the hotel car park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very warm and friendly staff. You can always judge good accomodation by the shower. If it's good the rest follows on. Great bed fantastic sleep. It's a shame we only had one night on our way to Nelson. I would recommend staying here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Room was great. Appears to have been refurbished recently with excellant lighting. Breakfast fantastic for both days with varying choices. In-house staff friendly...Parking tight but had a smaller rental vehicle so no issue.. Certainly stay at this location on our next visit..

Spacious bloody rooms with proper air con.
Decent as conference rooms for work.
Delicious restaurant food.
Lovely staff.
Pool, spa, sauna. No bloody there.
Cons:
Restaurant closes at 9pm. They stop orders at 8:45pm. Ordered at 8:30pm. The chef obviously had a hissyfit as we got our dinner an hour later with a complimentary bowl of shrimps. So that’s kind of a pro too. But still a con.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rooms are great, spacious and really well setup with an amazing shower, wall mounted TV, comfortable chairs and even plunger coffee.
Nice swimming pool for relaxing. Looks like the hotel has been totally refreshed on the inside and is very clean and well maintained. Would definitely return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We enjoyed our stay here. Staff were friendly and efficient and helped to problem-solve promptly when we encountered a plumbing difficulty in our original room. We enjoyed a breakfast in the dining room and found a good variety of hot and cold dishes. The guest rooms were clean and inviting and the beds were comfortable and warm. We appreciated the quiet surroundings and felt relaxed and refreshed during our stay. The hotel was in a great location, with an easy walk to the nearby restaurants, a beautiful park with a fountain right next door and close to supermarkets if wishing to top up your own snacks and supplies.
