★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fish n chips was great. Batter was light and crispy and portion just right. Would've given you 5 stars but unfortunately found a bone in one of the hoki fish. Hamburgers were pretty good aswell.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really disappointed to have always had fantastic Fish n Chips from Tairua Surf and Sand for many years. Last night, they served us up a rotten Whitebait fritter. When we returned it, the incredibly unpleasant cook refused to refund the cost and instead said you'll get another one. I explained to try another one was ridiculous, once you've had poor food there is no way you would try a 2nd one. They'd forgotten our burger too, when this was handed to us it was so horrible both the fritter and burger went in the bin. Isn't it consumer rights to receive our $20 ish refund. After 30 years of going there...never again. MPI are now aware, be aware everyone Tairua ChitChat!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Am suprised by some of the reviews not long wait 15- 20 minutes and my order was ready 2 fish + chips 2 x mussel fritters a tub of marinated mussels seafood chowder and a raw fish although the food was a tad pricey i thoroughly enjoyd my meal. My battered fish was nice seafood chowder raw fish and marinated mussels were yummy and by far my faves

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Biggest waste of money ? and time ever. Most expensive fish n chips I have ever had including a $7 surcharge for using my debit card. Chips soggy and dense and tasted awful burgers were horrible for the cost. Fish im sure was frozen then deep fried. Not good when we part with our hard earned money for a treat for our family guess it will be more home-made fakeaways for us as they taste better and a far less costly

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ waited 1 hour after being told it was a half hour wait if we ordered, worst fish and chips ive ever had at the most money ive ever paid , the chips were not edible , i hate hoki so ordered dori , ended up with hoki , absolute rubbish , also the staff just dont give a dam , do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs

Waited very an hour for a basic order of 2 fish n chips! Oily AF when they came out after the hour long wait. NEXT DAY tried the fish n Chips right opposite order was quick and out on 10 mins and much more worth the 10 min wait!! Would not recommend at all! You are warned ⚠️
