β β β β β Scenic spot & nice beach to visit. Has much more other beach or sea activities that can be done. Recommended at least for a visit and reason for coming back for another visit again.

β β β β β I'm prejudiced in favour of this beach. Here are the reasons; reasonable and, at times, great surf; beautiful views; long beach for walking on; rocks for exploring; and a wonderful seaside town.
To be fair, go anywhere on the east coast of the Coromandel if you can. It is a South Pacific paradise.
FYI, if Mount Maunganui is your kind of beach town then this is not for you.

β β β β β Beautiful playground by the beach where kids and i stopped to fire up breakfast before the drive back home to Auckland. Friendly locals, beautiful beach views and all shops nearby. I got the chef's straw so didnt get much pics.

β β β β β Stayed on Bayview drive, the view was awesooooome as was the company. Tairua is absolutely beautiful ?

β β β β β Live here. Great surf beach. My kid loves it but his only comment that it is really dumpy with heavy shore breaks so not so good for little kids (they can go to the estuary though). Clean sand and lifeguard presence in season.
