★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a carpark.. No facilities (IIRC). Map board. Take water, proper footware and reasonable fitness as the track is steep, loose and further than it looks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic opportunity to walk the highest point of Takaka Hill with views to Golden Bay, The Arthur Range and Abel Tasman National Park. You will see incredible Karst formations, Sub Alpine Beech Forest and possibly Poweliphantia NZ native carnivorous native snail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sorry, I didn't like it. Found it boring. You also walking over rocky terrain through Forrest's full of flies and narrow paths nearly overgrown with gorse. The view from the top bit is towards takaka and I believe Maruha but I'd rather recommend the Abel Tasman coastal walks or Gibbs track in totaranui. Save your time for a different walk. This one isn't as pretty

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great views at the top but not much tree cover so wouldn’t do it in the heat of the day. Also the path is very overgrown in parts (and I appreciate volunteers are doing their best to keep the gorse under control) but I’d recommend wearing long pants. I got mauled by the gorse and bracken … you have been warned! Probably not the prettiest of walks but a good workout!
