★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice big paddocks/reserve to walk along. Great for kids space for miles but safe. There is a jetty for fishing can get packed but always fun. Locals are really friendly. Plaques marking urupa & other maori landmarks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The historic site of a Maori pa or two. Lots of grassy paddocks between the houses and the coastal walkway. It's best to refer to a map to sort out where the walkway actually goes although there are signs in most places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honestly, my dog and I LOVE this reserve. It's large and has hills to easily tire dogs out, as well as a great community it's next to which have many many friendly dogs that live to play together.
There are a few issues that can get annoying... In summer when the grass grows quickly, it gets far too long before it gets mowed and even then some parts don't get mowed on a regular basis. There is also a lot of rabbit holes in the grass so beware of the potential ankle twists if you're running around.
