★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most beautiful scared water place besides Waipoupou Springs. I went and cleansed my crystals in the scared waters asking permission to do so first. The Internet says this is Scared to Maori and should therefore not be bathed in Unfortunately there is no sign saying that from DOC - Department of Conservation, so seeing many peoples swimming or already had Breaks my heart and feels disrespectful .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a short walk in. There were paths to couple of places that you could go in. The water colour was beautiful. The water temperature is freezing so go on a ? hot ? day or if you have severe sunburn.
I recommend aqua shoes if you have them as some if the stones in the water are sharp and/or slippery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Never seen the source of a river before and it was definitely worth a visit. The source starts from an underwater cave and a few meters down stream from the source there is an amazing swimming hole. Super cold and refreshing. Definitely worth jumping in on the hot day.
