★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every time we are in Queenstown we always go to Tanoshi and on this visit we went twice!
A ramen lunch one day and then an Izakaya style dinner and drinks the next.
The food here is really good and is best served slowly while you enjoy you beer and sake. We love the Salmon Aburi, Tebasaki chicken and the gyoza. And try the piri-kara kyuuri ( spicy cucumber) it is pretty damn spicy!
Service is always great and we love the atmosphere as it takes us back to living in Japan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was one of the best restaurant we visited in Queenstown. The food was a real treat and the drinks were flavorsome. We tried chicken tempura - tori ten, japanese pancakes, prawns skewers, grilled scallops, spicy fried chicken wings, grilled potato cheese crepe. I tried the Japanese liquor Yuzushu which is made out of a citrus fruit - Yuzu. It was refreshing,sweet and tangy. The staff was friendly too. It was all worth it :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I felt i was in japan as soon as i came in. The staff reflect the identity of the restaurant. The decor and ambiance is on point. Small and cozy place. I had the seared salmon dish and it was superb? well seasoned sauce not too over powering. I was a well-balanced dish. Fresh Fatty salmon and a nice tangy ponzu, a must try I reckon. Will definitely be going back.
