★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great campsite right next to Cape Reinga. The toilets are clean. No showers but great view of the sea. You can pay cash $15PP or online via email. They respond with an automatic email back giving bank details to send the money to that goes to the local Iwi foundation. Very simple, chill/quiet site for the cost.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Camping right by the sand dunes. Surf beach and estuary provide great swimming - very clear and beautiful water. Incredible stars at night. Light breeze when we were there. Lots of sites on offer. Harder to find completely level one though. We arrive 3ish and got the last available shade by a tree. Toilets were very fresh and clean for composting loos. Also had cold showers (that were warmish). You must boil drinking water. We fould booking easy and receptionist good. This is the real deal 'wild' camping. We loved it here! Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wasps everywhere they wont sting atleast they didnt for us but they're everywhere. Beautiful views and nice facilities and so many places you can pitch a tent or park your caravan.
Its a beautiful place to camp withs the ocean before you and hills behind and beside you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a great place to visit and camp there , there is alot wasps there at the moment that needs to be sorted . And also the road in needs urgent repairs on it , road is corrugated and some places has no metal on it , so at the moment when it rains it's a mud bath the moment . Need to be careful when using it . Looks like no Maintenance has been done it for a while . The people running the camp are great . And toilets are kept clean . And only other thing is we had meat taken out of our chilly bin at night . Make sure they are locked up .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful location with the creek and the beach on your doorstep. Looking drop regularly maintained, no hand sanitizer so have your own. Iwi run basic campsite, popular even in winter. They're still hunting the wasp nests, which are bothersome at times however the location is well worth visiting
