VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED ... I saw this farm on the website the reviews were excellent so decided to go and see for myself I enquired online and was told to book which i did and got a confirmation email back to say all was confirmed for the sunday that I booked, we were really looking forward to it we travelled from Auckland which is just over an hour, on getting there the CLOSED sign was up, and there were also a number of cars waiting, and were as disappointed as we were, all travelling from Auckland as well. It would have been nice if theTaupiri Sunflower Farm had contacted the people that were visiting either by email or phone to say that they were CLOSED... as they had emails and mobile numbers when we booked. Yet on the website it says open today at 11 closing at 4pm. This needs to be updated by them! I would love to go again but am now a bit spectical as to whether they will do the same thing again, because its a long way to go to find out if they are closed... Sorry Taupiri Sunflower Farm ...really bad communication on your behalf :(

3$ per flower is great deal, but there is charge per person entry too. Otherwise nice place to visit

Beautiful farm, unfortunately we went after the strong typhoon so most of the sunflowers were bending down. Nevertheless because we love the flowers ..we did enjoyed the orchard tour and had a blast taking photos and cutting some flowers to take home.

Visited the sunflower farm today. We booked a time slot online but payment is collected after you have visited the farm. We booked the earliest time, 9:30 am so only a few people were there. Use the toilet before heading to the farm as there is no available toilet on the farm. They have a huge space for parking. The sunflowers are not visible from the side of the road as most blooms are in the back. We brought are own cutter to pick flowers but they offer cutters onsite too. They charge 3 dollars for every flower picked. They accept cash or eftpos so don’t worry about having no cash with you. They check vaccine pass at the gate. You have to wear a mask before entering the sunflower farm but you can take it off when taking photos just remember to put it back when you are heading towards a crowd or when heading to the exit.

Amazing spot. If you’re in the area and looking for a quick break to stretch the legs you must check it out. Small entrance fee and you can pay to pick your own. The sizes on some of these are impressive. A lot of bumblebees dusting themselves with pollen, it was fun to watch.

Even rain can't stop us, kids were given free lollies, sunflower ??? and the farm didn't fail us. Has to book first then pay the d day, $5 entry, kids below 5 free, $3 per stem. A cafe would have been nice for a quick foodie. Kudos owners for great service. Highly recommended.

Stunning day to visit the sunflower farm! Would’ve been so good if there was a cafe on site for something to cool off with tho.
