★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely stunning scenery on a clear day. Great for watching the sunset, or evening lights in Te Anau below. It takes about 3 minutes to drive up from the turn off on Te Anau side. The road surface is semi-sealed up to the Look Out. Driving from the Manapouri end of Ramparts Road is not recommended, as you will be driving for a loong time on an unsealed road which will take extra time.

Best part is that it takes no effort to enjoy the views.
If you’re been to other parts of New Zealand, you’ll know that most of the beautiful scenic points, other then those along roads, require some form of effort to get to the views.
This point just requires a short drive from te anau and you’ll be treated to a fantastic view on days with good weather. It’s relatively quiet too.
We were there for a good 30 minutes with no one else in sight even when we left.
Must go and see.
