★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best beaches in the country! However some visitors here have total disrespect for provided facilities. Few bottles here and there, some spit on the picnic tables - which is disgusting. This would have been the best beach of all time if those “animals” could take their vandalism elsewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow what an amazing area! We done the surf lessons there and it was truly amazing.
The beach is just a wonderful white sand kiwiana classic that lifts your heart and soul... we stayed all day just relaxing with the kids.
Limited shade and drinking water, so take some. Toilets are there and they were surprisingly clean. Plenty to do in this region and we will be back forsure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most beautiful beaches in NZ. Loads of rocks to clamber on with rock pools in between. Long sandy beach, great waves for surfers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Te Arai is about 1 and half hour drive from Auckland city. Very remote place. It has zero light pollution and prefect for Milky way photography. This place is very good for a family picnic. Has public toilets. Good one for surfers. Beautiful beach. Amazing views. Must visit place.
