The place is all for show. That's really to sum up this entire school. Everything looks all nice and pretty, seems like a good school with great stats when you go there. But it's all fake. Their furniture is not practical and makes it difficult to learn there. As a collective group all the students wanted back walls as sound barriers as it made it difficult to work while other classes were in the same room. But they refused as an open room space looks better to people who come in. They care not for their student, they ask for feedback and do nothing with it. The organization is a complete joke, theres nothing like not being able to be in a room because they jammed so many people that you overheat from pure body heat. The female workers in the admin teams may be into being into equality but the casual sexsim was a common occurrence which made trying to learn in a male dominated environment very difficult. When I'm in a classroom the trainer shouldn't be saying 'watch out she talking about children, run'. The trainer shouldn't be getting into debates with their students because 'only women can see magenta, men see pink.' Not only to say this directly to someone but to say it to the entire class, it's shameful. There are some staff there that are nice, that try, that actually bond with their student, shame my experience wasn't with those trainers for majority of the time. This place, they have no respect for the students, one of my classmates had their own laptop broken by a member of staff because the staff member refused to listen how to handle the laptop. Data was limited for students to slower than ADSL rates, at a place where at times you need to download large files. The course was a complete joke as they would rush you in internals and not fully teach you with proper practice prehand and then for two weeks you would do nothing. They love treating you like your a children, I was treated better in high school. This place made me miss high school. Some of the trainers shouldn't be training, they calls them trainers so they don't actually have to get people that know how to teach. It really is a classroom environment so the whole 'this is a modern learning environment' excuse they constant pluck out really doesn't apply. They call it 'coursework' it's really just homework which sometimes is maybe three times harder than the actual in class work. They call it student lead learning, thats all for show. They care more about their image of the 'school' more than the student. When NZQA review them, the find out whos the teacher pet and who will send raving reviews and they send those people to vouch for the school. We literally had meetings so they could find out who liked the school. Funny how the 'randomly selected student' all loved and raved about the school. 'We are working to make this better', yeah right. Heard that one a million times, shame over the two year period I was here I never saw proper improvements. Only things that got worse. Think the best thing that ever happened was that they supplied hygiene products in the bathrooms. Maybe when the vending machine got replaced. Any benefits of this place was always outweighed by the negatives. This place has such a high pass rate because they literally hand out their diplomas. When it came to our capstone project your grade would be done based a lot of your team members review, I overheard our trainer asking one of the members to change their review so that member could pass. Student who did no work and anywhere else would have failed the course, could barely even code, barely even turn on a computer managed to pass this course. It's a joke. I would know, I passed top 10 in the class. Once upon of time I has a huge passion for coding, to learn. This 'educational provider' sucked all my joy for coding away to the point where I hate it. Techtorium is hands down the biggest regret I have ever made. I wish I had applied for Media Design School to learn coding instead. There's so much more than I haven't mentioned that I wish I could. Don't go there.

Better than a traditional university because Techtorium actually teaches you the practical side of IT along with theory, I Enjoyed my time and was able to complete courses successfully

What can I say about Techtorium? Well, I am currently 3/4 of the way through my first year there, and I feel as though my time has been wasted. I haven't actually learnt anything in that time - other than how to copy-paste into a word document, and that I fell for their sales pitch. They make themselves look like an excellent place, with a positive environment, and a high pass rate. Amazing what some pretty photographs and a good media team does aye? This is not the case. The building is horrendous, and the reason the pass rate is so high, is because they give out all the answers, and weeks to submit after the deadlines. I actually can't think of a positive thing to say about the place. The "student engagement" team, are some of the most unprofessional people I have had to deal with - I made a justified complaint, and somehow it got flipped on me, and they didn't own up to any of the criticisms. They have a day where you go in just to play games, which is a massive joke if you're not actually interested in playing games - especially because its compulsory, and has an effect on your overall attendance. Techtorium is a place, where people that struggle with social interaction can come to feel at home. This would be fine, if that's how they presented themselves - they say they're preparing you for work, but I have not seen them educate some of the students who clearly lack in the social skills department. They have a careers advisor (or whatever they're referred to as), who's job it is to help find students a job in the industry, that took over a week to respond to a friends request about finding a job. When he eventually responded, he was told that there may be some roles available at a certain business. That was the end of that. Good news - I found a positive - its free, and that's the most it should ever cost anyone. But you will not get your year/years back, and that's a huge price to pay in my opinion. Do not go here - and if you do, take them up on their 10 day trial thing. I wish I pulled out sooner. Just going to finish it now :^)

Hi, I came across Techtorium NZIIT while in search for a good private IT Institution which was on NZQA category 1 provider. Jumping from one institute to another, in search for the best IT course content, I landed in Techtorium for my final year to pursue my Cloud Technology Diploma - Level 7 - I assure you this was by far the best choice I had made for my final year. My course teacher and all the staff were very warm, welcoming, helpful and professional. All were very kind and supportive to me. Being an international student, I thought it would be quite a tough challenge to nail a job in the industry but Techtorium came through for me. They managed to not only gear me up technically for the industry but also worked with me to prepare for interviews as well as develop my CV. They kept in touch even after I completed my diploma, assisting me in stepping into the IT industry - my current 1st job. If I get a chance, I will return to the institute to study the other available courses they have to offer and be part of such a positive environment once again. Kudos to Techtorium Team ?

I enjoyed Techtorium and all the people I met and things I learnt in class. Techtorium helped me build skills that I used and still use in the workforce. Techtorium opened my eyes up to what is most likely the career that I will pursue for a long time. It wasn't always sunshine's and rainbows though but not all tertiary providers are like that which I understand. I personally think picking Techtorium to study instead of a university was the best decision after finishing high school, which I'm very grateful for. Techtorium being fairly young has a lot of room for improvements, which excites me to see where it goes in 20 + years time.

After hearing about Techtorium through my ex I decided to enroll for the July 2013 intake Completing the Level 5 Diploma. While the course was good and with an amazing location, I learned plenty and the trainers were friendly and patient. I did feel a real sense of achievement after passing which at times I wasn't so sure I was going to with everything that was going on in my life at the time. We were given tablets as part of our course-related costs that ran terribly slow and couldn't load many apps due to storage space. I ended up having to buy an iPad. We were supposed to get hardcover books but only ended up getting Kindle books. I also never got to sit my external CompTIA A+ cert that I paid for as apparently, the voucher had an expiry, which nobody told me about. However, it's possible that the vouchers were never actually bought in the first place, not many of us actually sat the exam. Some papers that were initially supposed to be open books suddenly changed to become closed books which I found challenging. After I graduated, I was referred to Mike and Sam the then careers people to get me some work experience which unfortunately I ruined at the time as I never ended up doing it and I regret that. I was suffering from mental health issues at the time. Mike no longer works here so I can't reach out to him now. I have recently reached out to them about getting something going again and emails and phone calls haven't been returned. I filled out the online form and uploaded my CV on their employment pathways assistance page on their website and their Head of industry pathways manager just looked at my LinkedIn profile and didn’t bother making contact, so clearly not doing his job properly. Will probably arrange to see Patrick. I feel as though I've been let down it seems once you've paid for the course, they don't want to know you after you've graduated. Even a courtesy email or phone call to see how I was getting on after graduation would have been nice. I see they do post on Facebook and LinkedIn about students getting Jobs but am unsure whether they found the job themselves or if they had help. A friend that went here told me they claimed they got him a job when it was actually his brother. All I really wanted was some help getting a job and some work experience as they always said they would help us after we graduated and they have the contacts in the industry. On a side note, I have been thinking a reunion could be an idea perhaps? Would not recommend it. Update: 2022 I may come back to do Level 6 due to it being fees-free this year.

To all future employers of graduates from here Do not employ they are not prepared. Would pick zero stars if I could. Shameful, scammy and unprofessional. I did 1/4 of a year course here, but about three weeks in I knew attending was a grave mistake. I learned about Techtorium via an opportunity given to me at school via the gateway program. it was a week course to do with cybersecurity, I enjoyed it and I thought this was definitely for me and a lady at the end came and gave a speech about the benifits of attending and reeled me in...... I was set that this was to be my education of choice for 2022. I do an interview and am accepted on the spot. all is perfect...untill it wasn't. I get there, it's messy, unprepared, useless. All the classes are copy paste listen. can't name a single day when I was about to fall asleep in my chair. They make themselves out to be a school of your dreams..pave your future and be successful which it most certainly fails to set you up for. I somehow trucked through the rest of the terms work and managed to pass the assesment. All of the work is to "Research and define" nothing more at all, if I had graduated and got a job I would not have been prepared at all for it at all, this school makes you an amazing plagariser. the worst part is all they care for is profit It costs 9000$ dollars for a year!!!! I'm so happy I got this for free otherwise I would be that much in debt for nothing. the leaving process was also a pain, we had a meeting to discuss it and landed on a leave. they laughed at me as I explain my reasoning and did not respond to emails that I send regarding important things such as NCEA credits and I'm still now 4 weeks after the meeting awaiting a response. SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT FOME HERE. I could go on but I wont. LITERAL SCAM and they all know it...... Worst Mistake Of My Life.

First came across Techtorium through my highschool career guidance teacher. Thoroughly enjoyed the short course I took, Patrick (now the managing director) was my trainer back then and such an inspiration personally on my IT journey. Came across them again a few years later when I was looking through tertiary study options. Love the open concept of the classrooms and such a great learning environment and all the staff are super friendly and supportive. Its amazing to see how much Techtorium has grown just in the last few years and definitely see a great future ahead! So grateful to be a student here and glad to be part of such an amazing community which really is working towards being the innovative future of learning for many generations to come!
