★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing Views! Super in a sunny day but also super windy! Well ur on hill top! Average or OK coffee! Could be a lot better! Go for the view and not the food! 8$ entry per car, no cash cause of Covid Rules. Vaccine pass required too! Must visit for quick stop!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Even at night, walking to the summit of Mt John is totally worth it. The view is absolutely incredible! If you go up during the day and the weather permits, you can drive up (i believe there's a small fee at the gate) and then walk to the summit from the cafe, but nothing beats that walk up the hill!

-walk from base takes 1.5hours return (without photos)
-walk through forested areas uphill but should not be any problem as Long as moderately fit and no time pressure
-wind is very strong at the viewpoint, wind breaker is a must
-panoramic views will definitely not disappoint

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You have to pay $8 to enter the road but this is definitely the best view of Lake Tekapo. Enjoyed our morning here, lots of awesome view points and scenic walks to take.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an amazing experience there. We went for Luner eclipse party. 40$ ticket with good food and endless see moon through big telescope. We saw blood moon which comes after 40 years. At the end we all went outside where after luner eclipse whole Milky Way galaxy was visible through Naked eye. We did both star gazing and moon gazing at same time due to eclipse. The lady guide was very helpful. Loved it!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a beautiful place to visit & look over the 360 degree spectacular views of Lakes, Mountains & nature. The best view to see Tekapo lake from here.
$8 is worth to pay for entry on the special road & it's only 4 km from the main road. It's windy like crazy so make sure you take care of your belongings especially kids.
