★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had been here about 3 years ago and rated it very highly. We returned recently and were very disappointed. The service was pleasant but slow, we had to flag staff down for additional drinks as nobody returned to our table after our original order was placed. The starters came quickly and the bbq ribs were delicious but the main meals were slow to arrive then one came quite a while before the other. The meals were pretty bland although we had asked for med hot and hot. Wouldnt rush back, or even take a slow place back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the chicken pad thai and it was amazing. Great flavour, fresh ingredients, and came out pretty fast too. Under 10 mins roughly. It's interesting how all the reviews are either 5 star or 1 star. I have a feeling the 1 star reviews are just people upset because the restaurant was busy, as I can imagine it gets in Kaikoura on a busy night. The food in their apparently bad food pics looks great!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would absolutely not recommend this restaurant. Upon entering the premises we were quickly ushered away with aggressively crossed arms, being told "no" repeatedly with no explanation. Only once we were outside of the restaurant were we told that there were no tables available, but this was said in an incredibly rude tone. Once we were back in the car a waitress came outside to yell that they would have a table available but that it would be a half hour wait. If the staff had simply advised us that they currently had no tables available but would check their books, we would have been happy to wait but this service was absolutely appalling. Never have I walked into a restaurant and been greeted this way, regardless of how busy it may be (and in this case I noted that only half of the tables were actually filled at the time).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has no basic service. Booked a table few hours in advance. When we came in, the place was almost empty but the waitress reserved a table right next to the toilet. Placed an order as soon as we sit down. But had to change the order twice because they were out of that dish. Almost 1 hour after we ordered. 4-5 tables came after me had almost finished their meal. We was not served. Went to the counter asked the bill for the drink we had. And been told why we didn't came up to counter to ask where the meal was! Go elsewhere to get your dinner sorted.

The chicken in grilled chicken salad was just boiled chicken pieces on salad (not grilled at all) and too much vinegar in it.
And the yellow curry was just average taste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was hesitant to eat here due to the bad reviews, but I wanted to have some Thai food, so I decided to try it. I ordered Tom Yum Soup, Coconut Rice, Jasmine Rice and Chicken Wings and they were seriously delicious. I hope this place gets a higher rating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm giving this place a 5 because of the friendly and awesome staff, the first meal I had here was amazing, beef and cashew with rice. But then the next time I had chicken and cashew and the tide in the sauce was low and the veggies were not fully cooked. Then I had a Tom yum chicken the next time and it was delicious so then I had a Tom yum chicken again and it was bland ... then I had a beef and cashew and it was OK but even though I asked for lots of sauce it was still low. And also a different sauce came with my spring rolls .. so inconsistencies are a bit of the story here I'm guessing it depends on the night on how the food is going to be... but I spoke about that with one of the staff who said she'd give me extra spring rolls but never did... maybe next time. Hopefully the next time I order things will be all good together... just keep up the flavors and consistency and I think it'll be fine and fresh Chilli instead of Chilli flakes is much better... mild doesn't mean it has to not have flavour ... thanks though guys Krab kuhn Kah...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not very impressed. They cut corners where they should not.
The Restaurant is very conveniently located in the heart of the City Center. Has ample seating space. The staff was courteous and enthusiastic.
But food was a let down.
The Tom Kha Soup was very bland and was more of a pale broth. And clearly showed lack of effort and being hastily done.
The Prawn Spring rolls were just OK.
The Combination Fried Rice was a tad better
