★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just a short walk from the carpark, this Instagram location is extremely accessible.
Depending on the season you arrive, the tree looks different. Sadly, during the past 3 years, some inconsiderate people caused one of its branches to be removed. However, the tree itself still looks great.
It’s a beautiful spot and I’m sure people will continue to come here. It’s worth the trip to be sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not as imposing in person, especially in low tide. Not worth it, if you’re just going for the tree itself. However, it’s in wanaka lake, so you can walk around the area, which is quite beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yeah it was nice. Just made a quick stop to check out the tree. Lake levels pretty low for it to be surrounded by water. But great biking trails I want to try next time.
