★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lynn and the team were amazing, they helped us when we had bad accomodation the night before at another place and showed us the bed etc before we booked. Couldn’t get any better then this. The place was immaculate and the sea views were top notch. Book here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just had the pleasure of spending the weekend at the Anchor Inn in one of their executive suites, which are situated directly across the road from the ocean, providing great views as well as lulling you to sleep to the sound of the waves. Our room & it's facilities more than met our expectations and Lynn & Paul are very friendly & helpful hosts, ensuring our stay was stressless, even double checking for us that our anniversary dinner reservations were in place at the highly recommended Pier Hotel, a little extra & thoughtful service. Would happily return & stay again for any future trips to Kaikoura.

My Fiancé and I came in as a walk in. Late about 7:15pm, Lyn was very accommodating and put us up in the superior suit which was immaculate, a huge comfy bed, a spacious high ceiling stunning room, with an open wee patio where you can sit and sip on wines or chugg a beer or just have a cuppa all whilst enjoying the Ocean and Mountain views. The location is a 5 star spot in my opinion. We will definitely be returning with our children and booking the family suite.
Also with us being a late check in we obviously had no dinner reservations. NO WORRIES Lyn got us into The Pier Hotel, dinner for 2 which was an eye and mouth watering feast. We had the crayfish chowder and the steak meal.
I highly recommend the Anchor Inn Motel for all these reasons and I’d recommend The Pier Hotel for dining.

We stayed for 2 nights instead of a planned one with our 2 young kids, a horse float, & a pony.
Lynn was extremely accommodating & her hospitality definitely made our first Family trip to Kaikoura an extremely enjoyable & memorable one for us & especially our kids.
The rooms are immaculately clean, quiet, well appointed & right on the beach.
Will definitely be back!!!!!
For the price there is nothing better!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed two nights with elderly parents at the Anchor Inn Beachfront Motel. We had not booked anything ahead of arrival, but Lyn was very helpful in getting us set up perfectly with an accessible room for my parents, and the executive studio for me. The units are newer, and we were impressed with how spotless, warm and spacious the rooms were. Beds are super comfortable. We had all the provisions we needed for a comfortable stay. Fully stocked for cooking; salt, pepper, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk are provided and replenished daily if needed.
The rooms faced the beach across the road, and the mountain and sea views were breathtaking. Plenty of patio seating or you could walk across the road with a coffee to enjoy the sunrise on the beach. The town centre is an easy half an hour walk beside the beach.
The Pier restaurant hours are currently greatly reduced due to staffing (COVID) issues, but we had lots of other dining options. Lyn went the extra mile to help us order dinner from Cooper's Catch the first night, which was very conveniently delivered to our unit.
We were all very happy with our stay and hope to be back again someday soon. If you want great accommodations, a helpful host bursting with character and unparalleled views, this place has it all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolute Delight in dealing with Lyn very friendly in the booking process and at check-in. Unit was very CLEAN and comfortable. Just a walk over the road to beach. Lyn and Paul have adjusted how they operate to the current times so this told us they were fully aware of customers needs. Hence a shower with great pressure, very clean, and TV with ALL Sky channels not just free to air. WE would totally recommend The Anchor Inn to all our friends and will absolutely stay there again. It was a great delight in dealing with them.
