★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great local bakery. They have seating inside and out. There's a good selection of pies, savouries, sweets and cakes. We got pies, and they were filled to the brim. Their mince and cheese was fantastic. Free water is available too. There's a large field next to the bakery and across the road are two tame sheep.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is amazing, but got charged extra which is really doesn't matter. But could have been bit more nice when I mentioned about the extra charge rather than just walk away. Customer service really does matter.!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's no secret that Wakefield Bakery make the best pies in Tasman and voted 6th best pies in NZ. But wait, there's more: cakes, sweet pastries, cookies, scones, savouries, brioche, ....... the list goes on. Their coffee is darned good too. You'd be nuts to drive past this place. What about indulging in a cream donut?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just came for a drive from Nelson checking out what's further down the highway. After first stopping at the cafe starting with R across the road and leaving because it was stinky and underwhelming, we said let's just go to this bakery. Best choice. We had a chicken pie (excellent apparently) and a vegetable pie - best I've ever had! Wonderful swirly potato top, lightly crispy and sesame seeded. Inside full of carrot, potato, leek and white sauce. Very good. If I could I would just add cracked pepper. Also had nice ginger crunch and took home a French stick which was unusually sprinkled in rock salt and rosemary (?) very nice. We sat outside munching our pies and there was a constant stream of people with a queue out the door! Lots of pies and delicious looking classic sweet treats. We'll be back for sure.
