β β β β β The booking was easy (Which was good) ... The room was ok even though it only had one light source from the headboard as the roof and lamp had no bulbs for some reason and the window blinds were tricky to manuever all of that is forgivable ... My only real gripe was how long I had to wait to get checked in, first I had to find the hotel service who was at the bar, then he took a phone call so I waited in reception, 15min later I went looking for him, he just looked at me and completely ignored me and went back to his call, so waited another 10min before he came to check me in ... No other customers (Just me) bar was closed (So no one else to attend too) but it took him nearly half hour to check me in (Which took 2min) That alone put me off coming back

β β β β β Nice cosy room (single bed) , shared bathroom and toilets were clean...
Only downside was the LOUD noise from God knows what, fridge or something outside?? Super loud electrical buzzing , kept getting woken up the whole night by it lol .. .

β β β β β First we were given a room with 2 single beds ,
Then we were given a roomthe base of the bed was ripped and tawn
The mattress had wire springs which dug in to our arms and legs so not much sleep
And charged $130.00 and on Friday advertised $113.00
I am not happy I think you owe me a bit of a refund.

β β β β β I was shocked to be told by a staff member on the phone that he couldn't guarantee that I would be let in the building after the ferry docked at 10:30pm, on a Saturday night! The male claimed to be a manager and said that although the hotel reception closed at 9pm and check in is possible in the pub, he couldn't guarantee that they would be open, or whether staff would even still be onsite. Appalling.
When I tried to complain, about his attitude and their shocking service, he refused to accept the complaint and accused me of being rude. What kind of business brushes off customers complaints?!
He wanted to argue on the phone, and the male had no intention to solve the problem and reassure me that I would have a bed to sleep in. After 20 minutes I gave up as I was tired of his unprofessional manner.

Update:
After posting the above negative feedback, I was contacted by the Venue Manager, to discuss my complaint in more detail. He has taken my words well and has advised me of the training and follow up that will be done because of my experience. Also, they will impliment changes to be able to check when they are closed.
I am very pleased to hear this and I appreciate a company that not only listens to critique, but also makes changes to improve. I'm changing my review to 4 stars, because previously when I stay at The Cambridge on many occasions; it has been a good experience.

β β β β β Honestly we were beyond disappointed with our stay, to the point we had to laugh about it. Photos on their website looked nothing like our room. The bed was abnormally large, so large we couldnβt even open the door all the way. So annoying when you have luggage as we literally had to squeeze it in. It could literally fit about 7 people in one bed. The tv in the room was broken. There was one small window overlooking the gutter. Bathrooms were the only nice thing I can say. Receptionist was nice. Would not recommend though
