Lovely, clean and quiet. It's only a ten minute walk to the attractions like The Church of The Good Shepherd and the bronzed dog. Even though our room didn't have a lake view, the lake is only a couple of minutes away. We had the garden view.

We had another fabulous time. We stayed at Henkel Hut for three nights and the view was amazing! The location of the hut was very private and quiet. We loved it! Thank you Zita and Walter for another fantastic stay! The Chalet is definitely a hidden gem in Lake Tekapo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the greatest stay I had during my visit to New Zealand. The room is cosy, the laundry was very convenient and the location is great: in front of the lake and walking distance to the chapel and the restaurant nearby.
Will come back again !! Probably will choose the larger front room next time. ~ Highly recommended.

It’s really comfortable and is just a step away from spectacular view (both day & night). In a way we felt a bit like the locals thanks to The Chalet! Thanks Walter!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walter and his wife are awesome hosts! They gave us great advise for our stay in NZ and the cottage we stayed at was just a dream.. So much privacy, perfect view of the lake and mountains and everything was just very clean and comfy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Can't recommend this place enough; my only regret is that I couldn't spend more time there! They unexpectedly upgraded us to a Lakeview studio which had everything you would need for a comfortable holiday (including cold milk in the fridge) plus an amazing view of the lake. The Gardens around the area are just as impressive and it is only a short walk from the church and shops. They even gave us some food recommendations that were spot on. This is more than I usually splurge on accommodation, but it was definitely somewhere I look forward to coming back to now!
