About The Christmas Store
We've been importing & retailing Christmas trees and decorations for over 29 years.
My husband, Ranald, myself and our two small children (Cameron and Jonathan) came to Auckland in 1984. We sold our small farm in Wanganui to come to the big smoke and help my mother. We were meant to go back farming, but liked Auckland so decided to stay. After a holiday in Australia we discovered artificial plants in the malls, they looked so real. On our return we noticed that the artificial plants here looked plastic and fake. From here we started Nature’s Alternative and started importing realistic artificial plants, potted them for display, then retailed them from where we were first located in Parnell.
Visiting China 3 times a year we noticed the very best of artificial Christmas Trees, with my love of Christmas I said “Yes, lets do it". In 1989 we imported our first look alike NZ Pines. Our clients loved the realism and to be allergy free was a winner. Then in 1990 we started importing decorations to go with our trees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rang these people wanting to hire a Christmas tree for an apartment in the city and Cindy said she would get back to me with a proposal. When she didn't do that I rang her back and she said they weren't keen to rent us a tree for security reasons but we could buy one if we wished. We have access control, CCTV and day time duty mangers so seems a bit weird and why didn't she get back to me???? If she had concerns???
