★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Local cafe in Eastridge. Prices are as expected compared to most brunch places, perhaps slightly on the expensive side but the portion size were generous. Enjoyed our meal with eggs poached well. Friendly staff. I would go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The absolute worst service I received in my 20+ years of being in New Zealand. Waited around 10 mins to even be greeted by the barista, to which she was quite polite - she kindly asked us to find a table and the waiter will be with us shortly. Pakeha woman came by after 5 minutes to 'clean' the table, or should I say attempted to: one circular motion with a towel that was barely a second. Following that, she proceeded to leave without addressing the table at all - no water, no menus, absolutely zero indication of serving.
After 10 minutes, we decided to get the menu ourselves, seeing as the place seemed relatively busy. At the 20 minutes mark, the waiter continued to ignore us, and only responded after multiple attempts of 'excuse mes'.
At this point, we were a bit annoyed and let the waiter know we had not been even addressed in the almost half hour we had been in the store. The waiter then had the audacity of saying "well how about you go up to the front, we're really busy". wow. Absolutely no words. I have also worked front of house at a busy restaurant before and I understand how busy it can get, but I was shocked by the attitude and condescending tone used by the waitress.
How she got a hospitality job is beyond me, unless some training and management changes, we will not be returning here and will be letting our community know about our experience today.
Note: Was not asked for vaccine pass at all

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cafe is located at one of the entrances to Eastridge Shopping center but can be a little hard to find if the walls are up, just keep an eye out for the tables and umbrellas. Quite a bit of seating outside and few tables inside.
A nice little cafe and they have an interesting selection of food, particularly the Albanian scrambled eggs. However, I decided to try the mince on toast. Mince had a nice flavour and the eggs over the whole thing made it more decadent. The hot chocolate there was also quite nice with a good flavour.
They also do have cabinet food inside by the counter if the menu items weren't appealing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good lil' spot with tasty food and coffee. Read some bad reviews about the staff from people who have obviously never worked hospo. The Cafe was busy when we showed up and still got our food and coffee quickly. The staff were very busy but were still helpful and nice. Noice job mates

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mostly love this cafe. The team is always rushed off their feet but are always calm and collected. Love their coffee and food.
There is one staff member who repeatedly isn’t very friendly, which lets everyone else down.
It is disappointing to see the caramel slice is $6 and literally is from Countdown, and they’ve just presented it as their own food with a mark up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Popped in with a friend for a light pre Christmas lunch. We halved the spicy chicken roll as it was a generous portion. Washed it down with a refreshing lemonade. Very friendly service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some people need more understanding that hospitality businesses are currently in a very difficult situation because of COVID! If you can not wait just find another place. There are many cafe around this area. Absolutely no need to post a ⭐︎1.
In my experience The Daily Mission is a great cafe with very friendly staff and their food is always fresh. I can only post one 5 star but I hope it will help the business a little? Thanks for the good coffee?
