β β β β β Super interesting place to visit. Lots of different pieces to meet many areas of interest. I particularly loved the jar of monarch butterflies.

β β β β β Artist, collector, researcher, curator Bruce Mahalski has created New Zealand's most curious and interesting private museum. Inside an 1870s Otago cottage are rooms of natural and unnatural history, and many objects and stories of pure mystery, mixed with art and chimerical relics. Go see for yourself, after all, you are an animal too...

β β β β β One of Dunedin's absolute hidden treasure troves of oddities and curiosities! ...from the moment you walk into this tiny homage to the quirky and strange you feel drawn to its amazing bones and sculptures, art and displays. Must see!

β β β β β I like this place very very much! so lucky I am the only visitor the morning I visited, and nice talk to the owner of this museum, he is nice and gentle. When he heard I was a medical student, he said this place was a favorite of medical school students because we all love bones, absolutely true! haha...
120% recommended!

β β β β β Lovely little curiosity of Dunedin's eclectic art scene. Will not be appropriate for everyone but will be of interest to anyone with an interest in natural history or morbid curiosities. Well displayed and presented.
Holds various exhibitions from local artists and has artworks, books and sculptures available for sale.
Note there are limited hours due to it being in a private home and there is a $5 entry fee.

β β β β β Very cool place to visit for contemporary art lovers and just curious people! Bruce works are high valued on international stage while not that well advertised within New Zealand. Itβs truly unique style and visitors can spend hours learning about details of his works, he can also tell you a lot about his passion. You might not believe but HE IS super friendly! ? We will come back again!
